Changed the title of the thread from “If bigbang disbands as a group and blackpink doesn't renew in 2023, will yg be the first big 4 company in a while without a top act” to “If bigbang disbands as a group and blackpink doesn't renew in 2023, will yg be the first big 4 company in a while without a top group”.
  • yes, BP is their only relevant act, BB only makes sound in sk and now they are done, Treasure don't chart well and only sold because of yg over producing versions and probably over shipping, Ikon is nugu level and Winner is "Mino, the tv rapper and friends", Akmu is barely even known by people and Baemon will always be under BP shadow. YG is done if BP doesn't renew.

  • Financially YG will be alright, Treasure should be able to hold dome tours starting from 2023-2024.

However they need superstar group like BP for the buzz. Guess that's why they're being extra careful with Baemon's debut, they definitely need to hit it big with the public. GG can't really afford to survive on fandom power alone.

  • depends on how ygngg performs. if they do even half as well as bp, then everything will be alright. if not, then yeah they're doomed. treasure's sales will be pretty much the only thing that will keep them floating unless a wonder happens and they have a "love scenario" moment
