I kind of want to know the context behind this. Is it because of the Cars movie?
Cars movie came out in 2006, when I was 19. So no.
I don't remember the exact reasoning, but I think it had to do with being explained that green meant go (for traffic lights).
I also had a favorite pair of green frog boots as a kid, and I remember feeling faster whenever I wore them.
