Has Blackpink actually been losing fans/hype?

  • I’ve been seeing ppl say that ppl are losing interest and that their hype has gone down in recent months. So do you think that’s true?

  • what they meant there aren't many blinks active here but they haven't lost fans which is impressive considering they haven't released music for 2 years

  • We will see when they have cmb I guess. Nearly 2 years is a bunch of time so it would not be surprising if they lost fans

  • I wonder how their next cb will feel like, SNSD's Holiday or a new HYLT? I'm not a fan but Blackpink's comebacks used to get me hyped like no other gg, but now there's so many cool girl groups that have or are about to debut that there's always something interesting to look forward. And Lovesick Girls wasn't that interesting... I hope they comeback with something like Pretty Savage. Maybe they will be like Bigbang and manage to always stay relevant.

  • On AKP, for sure. Many blinks dipped from the forum after the first revamp and even the ones who stayed are mostly inactive now. But in terms of gaining followers and being the most tweeted about girl group on other social media platforms bp are still far ahead and their hype has most certainly not died down

  • It is not Blackpink's fault but YG choose to focus in their BB groups. I think Blackpink should get more fame and reputation. Speak frankly, I envy BTS and TWICE because their companies are not neglect them.

They are not hidden from the public eye completely for 2 years. They are always appearing on advertisements, magazine covers and fashion shows. That is enough visibility to keep the fans hooked.

  • 3rd gen groups are slowly fading away and give the spotlight to 4th gen anyway. Not just BP but I feel the same with Twice and BTS too. Nowadays, the debut of a new gg is even more interesting than some random threads made about BTS or BP. The fact that both of them are taking so long to comeback doesn't help either.

  • yes. hiatus too long. BP is a gg so age has caught up to them, they are no longer young and pretty. there are better new groups out there now

  • This is always a topic once Blackpink have been inactive for nearly a year, longer in this case. Nope. I don't even agree with Twice falling off.

Ive/Itzy/Kepler/don't remember the others, are nowhere near touching Blackpink, Twice or Red Velvet yet. It doesn't help that the 4th gen market is starting to get saturated. The reason for the constant "who leads 4th gen" is because they are one big pack with no-one standing out. For Blackpink to fall off someone has to outdo them.

  • There's not a day without some asshat making a hate thread about BP so I guess you are quite wrong. They social media numbers are also as high as they ever been.

  • There are hardly any Blinks left on this forum. ARMY's and Once/JYP stans are the 2 biggest, most active fandoms on this forum right now, maybe followed by EXO-L, who knows.

But internationally, their fandom is still active and thriving.

YG are in a fortunate position right now.

They only have to release a single for BP next year or so, and Blackpink's popularity would still be at peak height.

But when you check Spotify, the interest in their music starts to slowly degrade. BP's peak in monthly listeners was 29 million, nowadays their monthly listeners are like 13 million or such.
