Kpop groups changing concepts/sound, is it a good idea?

all depends on the song, if i hate the song then it's probably gna be a problem for me

I was lucky that my faves changed their sound and I still loved it, but this did not happen for other groups sadly

true but if it doesn't work out groups can go back to their old sound. For less popular groups it can be risky, but it depends on what the group is good at. And I don't know many groups who changed their sound and what I ended up disliking or who ended up doing worse than before so that's why I think this way

I think so. Red Velvet is known for this and I think it’s getting more popular lately

For a group like gfriend still in their early years changing from their original concept to fingertip was definitely a bad idea for them

I also liked their older songs more because it fits them better.

I like them but imo they're not very versatile as a group, like red velvet who can do almost every concept

Some groups aren't successful with their concepts so they change it to a concept that makes them successful

however some concept changes don't always end up being successful for example, Gfriends first concept change when they released Fingertip

Groups that did do well after a concept change Girl's day, AOA, etc

Groups who do cute concepts tend to change their concepts at some point since the members are getting older and a cute concept wouldn't fit them anymore for example: Twice

Some groups concept is literally changing their concepts all the time for example Red velvet
