gen idols vs fans

  • Ya know watching twices jimmy falon the feels stage, which has their best live vocal performance for a title track to date, i didnt expect them to sound that smooth especially naeyeon who i usually think she sounds too sharp but she was perfect and you could even hear her trailing off after the "Nevah let you goh o-h oo-oh~" it was so organic and natural and even mina for once was louder than her back track. (Jyp drowns her in it for what? FOR WHAT?!)

I think its because americans are super critical of lipsyncing so the company had to let them sing (which makes especially this song so much better, I understand for songs out of their range tho)

But it makes me think that, at least some kpop singers are better than we think they are. Like Naeyeon for example her tone was way smoother in the live performance and freeer less restrained. And Jihyo didnt sound like she was fighting the back track. Trying to constantly sing louder than the stage youre dancing on is bounce to make you sound shouty and have some volume control issues. Which must be stressful for jihyo...anyways

I felt bad thinking about how we criticized 3rd gen so much n if the idols ever read comments n were like "Well we literally CANT do that, ugh" (cause restrictions)

The use of the backtrack can affect the vocals of the idol and add ANOTHER layer to the perception of them as a singer/performer.

And some idols may simply stunt themselves because whats the point if the audience cant hear them anyways.

Im just saying Twice sounds better when they cant use much back track and thats very telling of the industry as a whole.
