Sumin about the hardships of being leader of K-Pop group

  • Sumin in interview for W Korea:

At the beginning of our debut, I thought that since I'm the oldest and the leader in the team, I should never lean on the members. even when I was having a hard time, I swallowed it down and was always stressed out. It was to the extent where I thought I should stop being a leader. Someday, an agency staff called me and told me "Sumin-ah, you might be the leader, but you're also stayc." as soon as I heard these words, my mind went blank.
I saw it around me, that I was having a hard time all by myself. Now, I share all of my feelings with the members. I realised that approaching them like friends is how the members and I can heathily get along better.

  • leaders always have a hard time since they carry everything on their shoulders and feel like if the group isn't successful then they are personally responsible or something...
