Why is seventeen so rarely talked about?

    Approved the thread.
  • just not a lot fans on the forums i guess. also i feel like overall carats are quiet.

seventeen has great songs though :txt35:

  • Most of their fans are asian or not on this forum I guess. They also don't have loud big 3 company stans to hype them up

  • They're more popular for their variety content rather than their music. And they're not from big 3. Unless you're at BTS level where your success is impossible to be ignored meaning at top, no one cares about 2nd top group or 3rd top group from non big 3 companies.

  • you mean musically?

Musically, achievement wise or skill wise. They're good at dancing but most groups are dance-oriented now. They have decent vocalists but not the best.

  • Most of their fanbase demographics is from Asia, so they aren’t talked about enough on Western platforms. But, they are pretty popular in Asia, especially for their variety contents and fresh concepts. GoSe is featured in Korean embassies to attract tourists.

  • I think their fans are not active in the forum. Moreover carats are generally not loud.

  • carat here(y'all can guess who i am lol there rlly isn't many of us left), i'll explain why there aren't a lot of carats here

a lot of carats left when the revamp happened because it was too toxic here in 2020, i won't go to the details as to what happened but i also left for a bit because of the toxicity and the hate svt was getting here before the revamp, it was giving me unnecessary stress, as y'all can tell, there are still people who dislike svt here

i find that it's because seventeen fans general demographic is in their 20s, they've little time to vote or stream but have the money to purchase a lot of their albums and go to concerts, and svt releases a lot of content so carats are rarely bored and have time to fight(not saying that we're that innocent but still i think we're a lot quieter) but i think svt is in a pretty good position though, every kpop fan knows them, they've amazing sales and have a stable kfandom and their spotify streams are not bad, i honestly like it this way, i dont have the mental capacity to fight

  • i notice that people on this forum are mostly company stans or friends with stans of the same company. So we can see a lot of Big 4 stans on this forum more than the others. Even though Seventeen are from Hybe, Carats don't have a good relationships with other Hybe fandoms (they had some beefs with Armys before) so they're not in the same bandwagon. As a result, Carats don't like to interact much here i guess

  • Musically, achievement wise or skill wise. They're good at dancing but most groups are dance-oriented now. They have decent vocalists but not the best.

i agree & i mean absolutely no shade

i have only listened to a couple of songs, but there isn't much to comment on tbh

the music is decent, not noisy but neither amazing (from a non fan), they pull decent numbers, nothing huge but nothing to drag them over either, their skills/visuals are decent,... everything is just decent about them.

so even if you're not a fan of them, they don't have any real things to comment on if you're a non fan/use in stupid fanwars.

their fans might be a bit louder on other forums than this one (since many left), but they are less agressive than army, blinks, nctzen,moas,...

  • Because the most interesting thing about them is the sheer number of members they have. And I'm sure even they get tired of hearing that same thing.

They're not awful but there's also other groups who are far more impactful than they are.

  • I've actually put some thought into this :/ I think that their standout members aren't standout enough and their standout songs don't standout enough. They're a pretty boring group overall, as far as no scandals, no big headlines generally. Which isn't a bad thing necessarily, they're just doing their thing with their fans.
