That’s what everyone has been saying, live singing is a useless skill nowadays. It’s why idols have overall gotten worse at singing.
If even the best singers like Taeyeon end up lip sync anyway (she did for weekend as well) then what’s the point of finding and training a good singer, just debut a weak singer and have them lip sync to a professional studio vocal track.

the effect experience has on live singing varies, in some cases veterans sing live more because they are more skilled, but in may cases veterans barely sing compared to their rookie days for a multitude of reasons, they've already proven their skills, they've damaged their vocals, they simply are tired of it, etc. it all depends on the singer
in this case I think it has to do with the music show, almost nobody goes live on mcoundown these days

Dont ask me, ask the artist themselves, do they feel the need to do it live even though there is no one watching them . doing LIVE in front of the LIVE audience is another thing. but i am not here to argue about thing that does not even matter at all in Taeyeon's case. she doesnt really need to prove anything

As for the rest, I'm starting to find it extremely shady and fishy that some 'concerned' kpop fans only ever use SM artists to express how shocked they are with the lipsyncing in music shows that has been going on for years, completely ignoring the multitude of other artists incl their own biases in the same music show(s) that are obviously lipsyncing as well and have been doing so for years.
It's obvious that a number of kpop fans, because they can't attack the vocals, they shade the not singing fully live even if their own biases do so and have done so as well.

there is no correlation between vocal skills and lipsynching. The latter has become the norm in kpop shows and it is time you all get used to it and stop acting scandalised every time it happens. this is like being surprised the sun came out from the east today.
