Groups with a low budget debut but then suddenly high budget comeback

  • The cinematography for this MV made it look cheap

Any other examples you can think of?

  • Literally A.C.E comes to my mind. They filmed everything for their debut in a factory that let them be there for free and Jun said that the member who wore brand fashion in the video rented the stuff out since the boys only wore H&M-fashion and had no proper money to buy some bling bling. I think they also said back than that the producer they had for the song did it real cheap since he was a friend of the CEO and the CEO said herself that she helped editing the MV since she had no money

IDK if it was allready the 3rd MV or the 4th that was more expensive but in the 3rd one Jun said they had no proper money for clothes so they wore stuff they allready had for most parts and so he said the pink shirt he wore was one he had since he was 11 years old and didn't out-grew from it

That my dear is the real broke-stuff tho

  • Here's an even more extreme example. Rolling Quartz's first music video "Random" was just the band playing in front of a white background. Apparently they couldn't afford a proper set or location shooting. I quite like the song though.

However, their next music video "Blaze" was so much better, I'm assuming because it was created by Zanybros, a leading video production company that's worked with some of the biggest names in the business (e.g. BTS, GFriend, (G)I-dle, Mamamoo, SuJu, Wanna One, etc.).
