Ah, I see. The awkwardnes makes sense then. Hybe do indeed seem very focused on promoting BTS as a group rather than as individual artists and this particular subunit could very well end up overshadowing the others to an extent. Which the group itself might not want to happen either. With solo activities come solo stans afterall.

trust me, if they wanted to work together, they actually would. jimin and jungkook have been choosing to work together since 2016 when they'd do dance routines together, they've also said they gave the best stage chemistry together (fanmeet from a few years ago).

What is up with this. There are many reasons they might not. One could be that they have different music tastes. Like even in units you don't see the two of them work together. I don't think hybe is forcing them to not be in a subunit. From how they talk about their subunit songs it seems the members themselves choose. Tae and jimin have a song together. So does tae in joon and tae and jin. From what I know about bts it seems that tae is closest with these three. I mean everyone knows about the 95 liner and I think it was after school where joon admitted to taking care of tae the most in the group. Jin and tae also seem to have a very good relationship. I know tae and jk were really good together in their early days, but it seems that they have drifted apart recently. Not in the awkward way hybe is trying to make it seem, but more in the "they don't have similar interests" kinda way. Tae changed a lot recently and JK is also becoming more confident in himself and finding his own interests. They are still like brothers, but there are siblings that do everything together, siblings that like each other but tend not to hang out that much, and siblings that you can't stand. I think Tae and JK are the second type of siblings. They like each other and things are fine between them, they just don't get along as well as they used too.

and yes jk should go solo. taekook have very different music directions. it would feel forced to put them together. i mean jk has so much of solo potential (even taehyung), and he could sell much on his own. so why waste money on one thing, when you can get double the profit from both members individually?
Every member in BTS has the ability to be successful working solo, though imo JK really is the only kpop idol with the ability to become successful worldwide. Though I doubt we get to see it since Hybe focuses so much on them as a group.
there are plenty of examples of them being professional together, so...?
anyway, 90% of the fandom wants a Taekook subunit, get over it. They sound great together and the chemistry is top notch. The only reason some "armies" don't want it is because they know that having the two most popular members work on a song together would get most of the attention.
