How big of an audience would these groups who sell insane amounts actually be able to pull in a tour?

  • Funny how this thread became a "let's focus on nct and drag their numbers like it's a conspiracy" because they always are the main event lol

even evil SM and chinese fans were dragged. zero originality here, what's the point of hiding behind anons then? We all know who are the typical users "innocently" going in nct achievement threads with their essays trying to "correct" the info anyways

  • Inflated Album sales don’t reflect true popularity. Monthly listeners and streams do. None of these groups are pulling your numbers reflective of their album sales because their streams and listeners are poor

Lol streams are even more inflated than sales. What’s easier for majority of fans who most of them are young or just not rich: To buy multiple albums costing them money or to listen to a song multiple times?

It’s not like Kpop fans are not known for being crazy streamers with streaming campaigns.

  • NCT 127’s first tour was also their first full album, so of course they played smaller venues. For their second tour, scheduled after Neo Zone (ie Kick It), they were scheduled for an arena tour in larger venues like Madison Square Garden in NY (20K), the SAP Center (19K) and the LA Forum (18K) when the pandemic hit. These are the same size venues that a popular artist like Bruno Mars or Ariana Grande plays, but smaller than the stadiums that an artist like Beyoncé plays.

NCT Dream only had a small 5 date tour in Seoul and Japan in small venues. WayV has never toured due to the pandemic.

Perspective is needed here - California, for instance, where NCT was scheduled to have two stops, is a state with 39 million people, so selling out two arenas of 20,000 seats is not an impossible thing here. (And that’s not even counting neighboring states which are just a $100, 1 hour RT flight away.) You don’t need millions of people streaming a month to sell out 20K seats…in fact if you look outside of the Kpop bubble, you’ll see there are groups who have sold out these arenas with much lower monthly listeners in streaming but a dedicated fanbase, from rock to rap to country.

  • I think it depends on the country they're doing the concert/ selling a lot of albums in. Tbh, nct has a lot of album sales but it's hard to determine their popularity when you look at the number of versions of their albums. A typical group only sells 2-4 versions but they always have 10 or more versions.

It’s funny how you ignored the monthly listeners I mentioned.

And that’s what stans say when their faves don’t do well in one factor. I bet if your faves had streams and listeners, you won’t be saying this.

At least streams and listeners are a better indicator of people actually listening to the music, than CDs which are never getting played.

Typical group? Skz and Seventeen, next in line when it comes to physical sales, also release individual versions, definitely more than 10. Ggs like Itzy, izone and twice also released more than 5 versions. Older groups like exo and got7 also did individual versions.

None of them came close to nct numbers.

Also, lets remind that nct first million sellers were Kick It (only 3 versions) and Resonance, the album that broker SM records, only had 2 versions and 2 kits.

While this year, both 127 and dream easily sold above 1M+ with their repackages which only had 2 versions and 2 kits, despite being announced and released less than 1 month after their full album promos finished

So your comment has many incorrect info

  • I don’t think NCT will have any problem pulling crowds but not sure where will be the best place. Korea? Japan? USA? Maybe they need all units for a successful tour because different unit appeals to different crowd. Throw in SuperM to be on the safe side. That should cover all bases.

yep, they'd totally throw in SuperM to be on the safe side. especially with Taemin and Baekhyun in the army and Lucas on hiatus :suure:

your childish shadiness isn't even sleek.

  • if you combine all nct units, maybe they can fill up a 50000 to 70000 seater in the West for 3 days

    10?! Wow!! SM be rich

Then with all those groups combined, I won't be surprised if they do 100k/day for 3 nights

    :pepe-toast:

  • I believe that itzy can. they are starting to sell better than most girl groups + real streams

  • nct can fill 50k a night if all sub-units perform that night

  • I can't see many groups not selling out at this point. Wetsern fans especially are so thirsty that they'll go and see any group that makes them feel Korea-adjacent for two hours.

I'm still waiting for small companies to get their acts together and organize a tour. Imagine Brave Girls, Golden Child, Purple Kiss, P1Harmony, Weeekly all on the same bill. Fans would love it.
