Can I open a "bank"

  • oh i completely agree with where you are going the question i guess is does lying and failure to keep a promise to s fellow forum member count as breaking a rule?

havent really thought that much about the enforcement side of things yet... thats why i said i may have questions later... lol

keep the thoughts and issues coming i would love to hear more

You could start with a lend limit, example 50 akorns, if they user pays, you could consider him of trust level 1, after that, he can get 100, then 200, etc, and his trust level will then increase until a certain amount (when it reaches 1000 akorns, as an example), so he becomes fully trustworthy, and free of the limit.

And, if the user for some reason refuses to pay, you just add him a untrustworthy list, and makes him unable to get more money in the future, we can't really take his car or house, so its better to accept the loss.

You could also add some pre requisites, to use any of the services, example, you need an account with at least 1 month old, 50 posts (maybe also 10 reactions), to not just give money randomly.

Also i don't think people would want 10 akorns if they have to give you back 20 later. I think not a lot would fall for that. Maybe do something like: the additional akorns will be donated to some lucky winner once a month or have an event with prices or something, otherwise no one is going to want lent the akorns.

    the trust status definately...

the interest rate will not be at 100% especislly for trusted users...

to keaji at this point its purely a bank but like minigee said we could turn it into a betting facility or casino later...

Hmmm, the idea of a lottery makes some more sense now too, and the interest rate would not be very high, I mean, this is a proto economy, we don't really have inflation and things like that to account for a fair percentage of an ir, so a "fictitious" value of 10% percent a month, sounds ok imo

@keaji i love how both of you have thought about this more than i did lol

    • Official Post

dont worry my friend i'm merely doing this for th fun of it to see how far i can get with it lol

like all my 'projects' its purely for entertainment (not just for myself either)

It seems terribly stressful for something that's virtual forum currency. Real-world debt and loans are already anxiety-inducing enough for both the lender and the borrower. ^^ The concept is interesting, though. I've thought about something like that.

    Lottery seems more doable.
