We don't have this weird christmas themed stuff, or at least I don't know a restaurant who would do that (maybe the big cities like Hamburg, Berlin, Munich,... have a place that makes it but I don't know)
Mostly if you go to a restaurant that has pancakes on the menue you get them with apple sauce or jam
My family made a lot of these as I was a kid and we had them no joke 1 time each month. My grandpa even reminded everyone when the month was about to end and we forgot to make pancakes so we would do them before the month was over. My grandpa also had a nice recipe that my cousin thought would be "a family secret recipe" so as she was like 12 she beged him to tell her what he does cause her version would 'suck' aparently haha. He just told her: "Did you try to ad eggs?" and as she said "uh no" he was like: "I bet this is why your pancakes arn't as good" lol she was really buying it and told my grandpa some weeks later that she noticed a 'huge' difference with eggs in it
I personaly make pancakes only with milk, flour and sugar
Stores here also sell pre-made thin or thicc pancakes and you can also buy the mixture, but people will murder you if they hear you used the mixture from the store (mainly cause its way too expensive and using the same ingredients you often allready have at home is way cheaper)

We have shops that sell these year long, not just around Christmas. They're actually not related to Christmas!

We make them like this too! And call them pancakes hehe

We call it pancakes too here in my Viking country.
My family usually puts jam and brown sugar on it, and then we roll them and eat it with our hands.
