Chounim's controversial opinion #1

  • Agreed. Personally it's a pet peeve when idols lip sync/loud backtrack. They're performers, they're meant to sing and rap and dance at the same time!

in a perfect world they can, but they also get proper rest between performances instead of doing six music shows a week where they have to be there for 8-10 hours a day plus all the other side promotional work they film plus whatever else they have to practice for.

The only performers who usually do are musical actors who usually have understudies who can perform when they're in bad condition

  • i don't think "hearing their voices a bit" matters at all in a 3-4 minutes song, it doesn't tell or show us anything at all. if you can't hear them clearly singing and/or rapping beyond any shadow of doubt then it doesn't matter at all imo.

and what i meant with "honest" lipsynching is straight up lipsynching, moving your lips to a recording, that's all, don't read too much into it ^^

For the viewer/ spectator I admit the experience is not much different but there is still a supplementary effort that is made by the group in the case of singing with loud backtrack, don't you think it deserve to be acknowledged even if it's minimal?

  • Many things fall down under this tbh. Some even said their faves lip sync because they want to preserve their beautiful vocal chords and they were smart for doing that lol.

But I’m not bothered with any of these things tbh. It’s just things that make kpop fun. Every fandom will try to find something to brag about their faves.

i assume they joking when they say that because come on, that's just dumb :pepestare:

no i don't think it deserves to be acknowledged, i mean that's what the thread is about.

i don't just value the knowledge that someone is singing live, heck i don't even value live singing full stop. what i value is genuine live singing that actually sounds good (to me).

no offence to anyone but i think the whole "at least they are singing live" argument is a sign of having low standards. they are singers, they aren't just supposed to sing live, they are also supposed to sound good. This is like praising someone for meeting a deadline when their work is halfassed and full of mistakes. who cares? no one would praise me for that in my job, i might even get in serious trouble lol.

  • The live vocals that made me stan them backtrack who?

  • This was the first Sistar song I heard as well. Then I went back to listen to Push Push and followed their career all the way.

Push Push is literally my Dad's ringtone
