why is aespa only popular in korea?

Except for enhypen, all the others debuted like 2 years before Aespa and had more time to establish themselves. And aespa had a bigger 1st week album debut in spotify than enhypen and itzy

Hmm aespa has had some decent charting on a global scale, I wouldn't say there isn't interest in them from outside of Korea.

But, they are still quite a bit newer compared to the groups you mentioned. I think they just need more time to build themselves up and stuff.

sm groups tend to mostly be popular in korea, china, and japan tho so it isn't unusual tho

Sm has company stans only in korea and china. Because those countries only care about visuals not music. Those who want good music don't listen to sm groups. That's why all sm groups have good sales but bad streams. Even sea people don't stan sm groups.
