Or even best friends for that matter. It doesn’t matter how long I’ve worked here. And my parents who have worked in their job for many many years don’t either.

Sure your co worker might be your BFF but it’s also equally likely they’re not.

Nothing I was just thinking about this and found it funny.

How much of what we enforce and expect out of idols is always funny.

  • But isn't hyung/unnie used as an honorific for the most part?

  • Tic_tac_toe

Changed the title of the thread from “I was just imagining calling my co workers “brothers” or “sisters”” to “I was was just imaging being best friends or sisters with my co workers”.
  • My fav is when people brag about a group having the best relationship ever and they have barely debuted a year ago

Most groups end up having major conflicts and going separate ways even before their contract renewal

  • No I didn’t mean that OMGGGGGG I didn’t realize it sounded like that hahahah.

I meant to say when fans expect idols to be AS CLOSE AS best friends and siblings or family.

Ofc I’m Asian I use honorifics too. Kekekeke.

oohhhhhhhh okay ignore me lol :pepe-peek:

yes I agree! While I admit you do get weirdly comfortable with people when you live in close quarters with them, it's still super weird for people to expect them to be bffs 24/7.

  • yeah def conviced there's some beef between taeil and it involves dong sicheng

winwin pics on Twitter: "special shoutout to his current roommates taeil and yuta for being his biggest fanboys & supporters 💖… "

  • that gif is exactly how I feel when some of my former and current classmates call me their best friend

I only got to know my current classmates for a month I-

and I feel that way with my former classmates because they teased me a lot and I didn't even find that funny yet they call me their bestie because I was nice to them no matter what ooof

I can see why a lot of groups disband and some groups still together after so many years

you're asian? didn't know that lol

what part? if you don't wanna share it's all good

i guess to your original point it comes back to the parasocial relationship between the members and the fans no? if the idols seem to have a stronger bond then the fans will eat it up

  • I honestly think it depends on a job. I was always close with people I worked with, but it was limited to work mostly.

But now I got really close to my coworker right away, we literally tell each other almost everything haha

And I know a lot of people that are super close with their coworkers or best friends with them.

When it comes to idols, I think it's a bit different because their job is so different. They do live together and are with each other all the time almost. They also go through some hard and happy times together, which makes them share some bad/god experiences together and that can make their relationship different than usual coworkers. (not necessarily closer, obviously they can also annoy each other or have some problems)

But fans shouldn't expect anything from them, that doesn't matter. It's different for everyone and of course every dynamics will be different. It's their job and if they become close with each other is just a bonus for them.
