For the people who don't call out the toxic people in their fandom

  • I want to ask why?

You see them dragging other artists and still defend them saying they are just giving back or that these are facts and not dragging when we a know damn well if it was said about the group they stan it would be world War.

Since we are in Anons pls answer truthfully.

I'm curious because from where I stand I see no reason to do so.

They're probably afraid of making things awkward between them and the others in their fandom. People generally don't like confrontation when it comes to people they're on good terms with.

  • It's not my business to play the fandom police with people that are less reasonable than a fuckin wall.

I just report and move on.

  • Desperation to belong sprinkled with a cult mentality. Forget about dragging other artists, I have seen some people here defend literal bigots just because they belong to the same fandom. It's nauseating.

An alternative explanation, some people might not want to admit that their fellow fans are toxic because they think it reflects badly on themselves. They think of their fandom, or at least their guild or group of fandom friends as a monolith so they'd rather break their brains coming up with explanations and excuses for obvious toxic behaviour than admit that their friends are actually toxic. Usually these are the same people that preach about not generalising fandoms but for some reason they themselves subconsciously act like their fellow fans and them represent each other which literally encourages fandoms generalisation lol.

  • I don't like confrontation and prefer to ignore and avoid it. It's petty and childish and I stay right out of it

how about instead of being vague, you name exactly who you are talking about?

  • 1.im not a fan of confrontation and i don't want to be on bad terms with them

2.i alr told them to stop but they still do it

  • I've been dragged and called a fake stan for doing so. It was getting tiring at some point, that I stopped calling them out at all together.

Let's be honest, do you really think they would change just bc their fellow fandom mate called them out? And there's so much of toxicity during such fights, I find it better to not engage.

Not really, but the toxicity and personal fights on the forums would decrease.

People also might see their toxic behavior if they see someone from the 'same side' calling it out.

  • i don't want to police people, it's mods work. It's not like they'll change , Only mods can discipline toxic people with wp/bans

I'm more pressed when people are whining why others don't call out the toxics in fandom while they also don't call out their fellow fandom members

  • been there and tried on here, the other fandom enables their toxic ass clowns, so I don't really care to do so anymore. Let them all fight it out like idiots. Just wish they would stop crying and acting like they're heavily disliked on here for no reason.

you don't really have to call them out or confront them, especially if it means you might get bullied. But i think this thread is about people who go out of their way to defend the toxicity of their fellow fans or who are very quick to reprimand and call out people from other fandoms but go eerily quiet when it is someone from their own fandom being openly toxic.

  • It's not my place to call anyone out. This the internet, everyone is grown enough to behave in what they find acceptable.

Exactly. It's clear in the op.

  • it's a mod's job right? I am no fandom police.

    1. the best I can do is ask them to be respectful when I see them super rude already.

    2. for known trolls in the fandom who drag others, there is not stopping them after others already told them praise without dragging others. they won't stop that's why they're trolls.

  • Is it violating then forum rules?

No use doing that if the usual suspects are really stubborn to the bone. I pretty much know it's a waste of time. I just avoid their threads and being engaged in toxicity.

  • i just avoid or report to the mods that toxic akgae in our fandom.so tiring.
