It's more like they are trying to suppress idols power from their own contry but because kpop wants China's money they are also affected.

It seems that now, Kpop can only do concerts or fanmeets in China, no more endorsements and stuffs

This is little to do with kpop in particular, they are just caught in the crossfire.
CCP is not happy with people idolising anyone above themselves / xi jinping, and being influenced by what they consider to be immoral and "bad values" etc after a series of "scandals" involving some of the biggest domestic celebrites, all starting with Fan bingbing in 2018. This is a crackdown on the entire chinese entertainment industry, with strict new rules for whats allowed, regulation of salaries, and even how fanclubs are operated and function.
It basically being the death of big kpop fandoms is just a sidenote.
