Is the position of a member that important?

I honestly think positions make k-pop k-pop.

the only position that matters is main vocalist or if rap heavy, main rapper.

the other positions matter only to fans or if the group brings attention to them

yes and no...it helps the group initially I guess when positions are assigned and maybe to identify member's strong suits but as time goes on it becomes less important...
