What do you think of this voice/rap style that was common in kpop during the 90s/early 00s?

I have no idea how to describe this style of rap but I've always found it interesting and can't decide whether or not I like it. It's very unique to what I usually hear and different for sure (plus I think it helps make the song more exciting/unpredictable?) but I can't decide if it's good or bad... like they do a bit of a raspy (?) voice and idk how describe it but it comes up in numerous songs

Yeah 1st gen really was different. I wasn't even born yet when a lot of the songs came out so naturally I'm not super familiar with it but I've been checking it out a lot recently and it makes me feel jealous lol the songs are so unique and just pleasant to listen to. The music style was so different and had interesting little things like this that sets it apart from other genres of music for me

I've always been familiar and known some songs with bigger names that stuck around like SES, HOT, and Fin.K.L but not so much beyond them so I'm having a lot of fun exploring which is essentially a whole new landscape of music for me!
