What is the akorns for? and points for? how to get akorns?
The first question in this thread will help you understand everything about akorns: Welcome to the new allkpop forums!

So here's a simple explanation. Akorns are the new currency of the forums used to purchase items, but can also be transferred to other members. We will be adding additional digital goods that you can purchase, but also physical items from our merch shop and signed albums.
Points are gained much like Akorns, but are not a currency and cannot be purchased. These points will determine your user rank title and will unlock achievement trophies (automatic ones).
I hope that's a simple enough explanation :P

We also have an Ask a Staff thread, where you can ask questions too. We tend to check that one a bit more often.
Also, yes there is a way to disable the notifications for the Akorns. You go on to General Settings, under the "Appearance" section, scroll down to "Show Akorns credits" and select "No". After you click on "Submit" at the bottom of the page and refresh it, you should not see them anymore.

They aren't really notifications though... The number is the actual amount of Akorns you currently have.
