According to urbandictionary, cancelling started as a way for netizens to get justice online but then it devolved into a witch hunt game

But many people still support cancelling when it aligns with their agendas and oppose it when it’s people they like who are the target. Overall what’s your opinion, is cancelling worth preserving?
Pros:
- targets racism
- targets homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism
- exposes the real personality of people
Cons:
- narrow areas of concern
- dismisses the fact people can change
- tends to overlook logic for emotional outpouring
