Cancel culture: mostly good or mostly bad

Cancel culture is just stupid. If someone or something did something wrong they should be given proper criticism not cancelled.

Sometimes it can be good because if a person turns out to be homophobic, racist or anything of that sort then we will know not to support them anymore. But I think people can take it way too far and start to cancel people for ridiculous reasons and it turns into something cruel and unnecessary.

Even someone does or say something racist they deserve to be cancelled ( of course it all depends of seriousness of the situation)

Cancel culture always existed. It is called boycotting. It can be righteous or just plain stupid.

Specifying it to just SJW stuff seems more like talking points for grifters who think they defend free speech but also partake in cancel culture of their own. Overreactions always was normal and just got streamlined. Things got "cancelled" before over perceived social and cultural grievances. The term "cancel culture" just have a bad connotation when it is a normal act.
