I mean Mariah Carey sunbaenim did it with 'Vision Of Love'. Her very first song ever managed to reach No.1 on the Billboard Hot100

But if an artist does it now, regardless of whatever charts it may be, it is tactics/playlisting/industry support/gardening ploy? I r confused.
If Mariah Carey sunbaenim can have her debut song reach No.1, why is it surprising that others can do it now? And if others manage to do it now, their success gets questioned?
