So apparently BTS said that they hoped to get nominated for the Grammys again and people in comments are dragging BTS and saying that they lost their true color, becoming westernized and they are only making music for the grammys. Like what? How was Life Goes On and Film Out westernized? They are complaining BTS are becoming westernized because the released 2 songs in english. Not only that people are saying that BTS aren't a kpop group anymore. The saddest thing is that those comments are getting upvoted.
According To Kpop Stans Now Aiming For A Goal Is Considered Westernizing

Making a song in English isn't westernized... it's just a Korean group making a song in English. Their concepts are still pure kpop magic. That's so sad.

I personally dislike that they feel like they can only be nominated for a Grammy if they sing in English. imo that should signal to them that the award is not worth the value placed into if they can't be nominated for singing in their own language.
But my issues with the Grammys and the Recording Academy existed long before BTS and will continue long after BTS.

Honestly I feel BTS American releases for promotion (BWL, Dynamite, Butter) are more like early 2nd gen music that really helped start the Hallyu wave. It has the bright, retro feel, with catchy chorus that really made K-Pop go worldwide. So regardless if it's English or not, it's definitely still K-Pop feel

An artist has personal goals. gotta respect that.

I stopped listening to those kinds of comments in 2018. They're comfy in their bubbles until the groups they stan say they want western achievements so...

They have always been very open with their goals and dreams no matter how small or big they shared them with us and I am glad they continue to be honest when asked.
I think it would be a bit fake if they all of a sudden said they no longer wished for a Grammy or were not interested just because of the snub last time.
If they have this goal I hope they reach it at some point and it would just be sweeter if it happened to be a Korean song but lets be real........unless they create a Kpop or Korean music category like they have for Latin music, this will remain a pipe dream.

I've seen them on this forum. I see comments every time they make a comeback of fans saying that they're beyond k-pop. I don't care really either way but it always seems back and forth. One minute they're a k-pop group, one minute they're beyond k-pop. Idk.

Pretty sure they mean doing something other kpop groups don't do. Basically something new/innovative that kpop does not usually do. It does not mean they are not kpop anymore.
