Gg sales pie chart looks like twice took a big bite of the pie.

  • As of 30. 11. 2020. With the trend of their latest comebacks being their best selling albums it's only gonna grow bigger.

  • I don’t think you know how pie charts work nnnn bc if the rate of twice’s increased sales is smaller in relation to that of all other ggs’ increased sales (ie the rest of the “pie”) then twice’s piece of it will actually get smaller, not bigger lol :sweatr: So even if twice does continue to outsell themselves it depends on the remaining ggs’ performance to determine whether twice’s piece of the pie will get bigger or not

Twice'sspace will only decrease if other gg's grow at the same rate as them.

Twice already has a sizeable portion to hold fort. Their increase will only expand a part of their "pie" as the other will now hold less space due to the ground twice has covered in total. Its calculated through percentages.

Also imma commerce grad with a whole subject on stats alone :D

Mathematically, twice's pie chart proportion wont grow bigger unless they outsell every single GG out there, else as new groups e.g. aespa, ITZY sell more, the proportion gonna shrink + BP's crazy sales + more upcoming groups.

They only need to outsell every single gg to eat up the whole chart not to occupy a major portion of it. Predicting a bigger pie isn't that far of from the trend of them outselling their previous albums despite even those being a part of the game.

Only when new groups start selling more to get into the pie. Twice will lose a portion.

Exactly, it’s calculated through percentage, not raw number, that’s why even if one participant, let’s call them A, increases in raw number it doesn’t doesn’t guarantee they’ll automatically occupy a bigger percentage as a whole as well, bc if the rest of the participants also increase in raw numbers and at a faster rate in total then A will decrease in percentage and have their piece of the pie decrease, not get bigger.

Let’s say for eg A occupies 50 points; B, C, D ... I, J, K each occupies 5 points, and together also occupy 50 points. So that means A currently has 50% (50/100) of the pie. Now if A increases by 20 points while the rest increase by 10 points each on average, the final piece of A’s pie is actually getting smaller bc it’s now 46.67% (70/150) even tho A did increase its points by more than each of the rest of the participants. So yeah A’s increase in no way guarantees their percentage’ll get bigger as well, bc like i already said, it depends on the rest

U totally dont get how pie chart works

Let says twice is 40% now with 6mil sales thus far

If there are 4 GGs come in with 0.5mil sales while twice increased its lead by 1mil, its percentage go down to 39%. Get the point now?

It stresses me as a statistician...

i swear i thought it was simple maths but it seems like op truly doesn’t get how pie charts work lol.. :sweatr:

I agree, gg sales have been great lately. An increase in album sales will lead to an increase in space as long as the rest of the chart takes the same course. A sudden spurt of sales from a rival or new competition is the only thing that could threaten their place.

Say A, B, C start with 60, 30 and 10 forming 100. That's their respective percentages. A year later if A earns 10 while B and C earn 5 each. A's place in the chart expands in relation to their growth as well.

Currently, any GG that is not BP is not outselling Twice so yes, Twice's piece of the pie will only get bigger. :yesr:

No, it doesn't. In your example, before the growth, A has 60/100 or 60% of the pie chart. After the growth A has 70/120 or 58.3% of the pie chart. The size of the pie slice decreases.

I left my heart in LA again. Please continue taking good care of it.

i’m not sure you get what i said, bc the example you gave me is only one scenario out of infinite possible outcomes. In many scenarios, A’s increase will get their piece of the pie (their percentage) bigger, while in many other scenarios A’s piece will decrease like the eg i gave, which is exactly my point. It’s not a guarantee that A will grow their pie piece. It’s a possibility, not a surefire outcome.

My whole initial post was just to dispute what you said in the op: “With the trend of their latest comebacks being their best selling albums it's only gonna grow bigger.” bc it’s not true. Twice’s increase in sales could definitely grow their piece of the pie, but they could also potentially have it shrink, bc again it’s not a guarantee like your post implied. That’s it

This is a total non issue. It's not some sacred science for a person, not to get how it works.

We both are still debating probabilities from opposite ends of the spectrum. The actual chart is up there. Twice's growth or decline depends both on their sales as well as the growth of other gg's. I literally mentioned that early on.

I mean that's exactly why I said their place in the Charts expands in relation to other groups growth. They are not independent from the rest of the competition. You'd have to grow in the insane pace twice has since debut to eat up the chart like they do.
