Is KPOP making the stans even more racist?

  • I noticed that these KPOP stans would praise who ever that has pale skin even if her face is plain they would still call them the "visuals". Or someone who's close the korean beauty standards they would stan them with no question. :) and they loveeee to expose idols who had dark skin in the past with their pre debut pictures. Is it bc KPOP is making them racists. Or were they actually racists even before they liked KPOP? Discuss

  • this is a bit deep for you isnt it?

It just annoys me a bit. When ever I see people expose idols with predebut photos. The major change they had is only skin color. So are they saying they looked worse bc they were darker? And isn't it racist tho?

  • it's not racist to like pale skin. Just like how its not racist to like tanned skin. Just like whatever you want. But don't bash people who don't fit your idea of beauty.

  • It's not racism, it's a social class thing. Traditionally, the people with a tanned skin were those working in the fields ie. the peasants. Nobles and lords didn't have to do such labours so they had a paler skin and it became the norm of beauty. Simple as that.

If you think pale Koreans look better than tanned Koreans you’re colorist or perpetuating colorism. It’s not some “preference” it’s deeply problematic and harmful due to it’s history.

It's colorist, not racist. Also, I don't have any preference, but I said others have preference and I don't really care. They can like whatever they want as long as they don't bash anyone.

Thank for repeating the same thing I said? Idc if you don’t care, a lot of people on here don’t care about racism either you’re just another one of the many people on here who don’t care about harmful issues. Doesn’t change the fact that it is not simply a preference and IS deeply problematic and hurtful. Have a good one.

I do care about harmful issues. But ok bye
