Most of us know IU as this digital prowess basically, but I think the only thing she falls short in, is that year-end #1.
Nagging was a SMASH back in 2010, but was ultimately beaten by Bad Girl Good Girl by Miss A(whom no one saw ever again until their final song, Only You) for the #1 spot.
In 2017, with the release of Palette, IU snatched yet ANOTHER smash hit(arguably her biggest hit to date) with Through The Night.
It was beaten by I Will Go To You Like The First Snow by Ailee(again, no one saw her after that). The song ended up being the 3rd longest charting song on Melon, so it's kind of shocking in hindsight that it didn't get that yearly #1.
Fast-forward to 2021, IU releases Celebrity. A certified SMASH(as usual). All is well and the possibility of a year-end #1 is high considering she released early in the year. But then Brave Girls start storming up the charts. As of 4/21/2021, Rollin is now #1, LILAC is #2, and Celebrity is #4.
Is a year-end #1 possible for the Senior Singer?
