Yup, the more I read the more I get confused. I am neither supporting him or the gf, I just want ppl to treat victim as victim without stereotyping them based on genders.

It doesn't matter whether it's man or woman who's the victim of an abusive relationship, toxic relationships can happen both ways, to men and women (although sexually/physically abusive relationships will occur more often with the girl/woman as the victim).
And yes, I can see why he was suffering from all kinda health disorders in that timeperiod, the constant conflicts his gf was demanding of him must've been extremely stressful.
Still, that only explains but doesn't excuse his behavior. He was horrible towards the other actors and staff and esp towards his co-lead Seohyun that he managed to bring to tears multiple times, and he never really, sincerely apologised.
Also, the leak of those private messages could only come from him or his gf from back then.
Seeing how his former gf was completely out of the picture and no target at all of this emerging 'scandal', seems most likely that KJH provided those chat messages: if that's the case, it's kinda cowardous and bad character that he throws his former gf under the bus, only to deflect the heat that was focused on him and his bad behavior and lies back then.

I never said that he is innocent but people are using the wrong narrative to criticize him. They rather say he should man up instead of saying he shouldn’t have latched out his mental health problems towards others.
Also to your second part, I am honestly not going to take any sides just like Anon813 . I just hate that narrative. He deserves every criticism but people shouldn’t use the toxic relationship as criticism moreover his behavior. There are too many questions and blank spaces for me tbh

I feel like the main reason people are saying he should take responsibility is because he faced little to no repercussions for what he did, plus based on what the staff and insiders are saying he only apologised because his agency made him so he gave no genuine apology. But, yeah judging from those texts and how he looked during the press conference he was clearly in a toxic relationship.

I definitely think he should apologize and be grateful that he came out of this without any problems but I still feel that there is something missing from all their posts, like an underlying problem that no one wants to adresse

Agreed. 'Manning up' is the wrong conclusion to that situation.
