I said it yesterday or the day before in the now removed thread that apparently has been merged that I think ador will seek to extract the most out of MDH whether to teach them a lesson or make an example out of them or because they don't trust them - all of which seem rational from Ador's POV
not to have them back at all seems shortsighted when the main goal is obviously $$$

True, but I do wonder if they even care about achieving the heights they used to. Ador already make enough money from the catalogue so far, and will so for many years to come.
Keeping the IP alive, one way or another, is good enough for them, even if chopped.
