Obviously its not real, but it got me thinking.

#1 do you think shed fit the role?

#2 i’m a native English speaker and even though i speak spanish i still don’t like think it? And it got me thinking…. Do other languages use semantics to say one message and KNOW it will be taken another way? I see this ALL the time ESPECIALLY in journalism and headline adjacent things

i think she could do it and pull the audience. Plus the vocals arent exactly the hardest disney Princess’s, shes an Alto and uses her head voice to reach soprano notes so Lisa could do it.

  • I think the tricky part is can she display emotion with words? I think getting message across is most likely the toughest thing for an actor that is not performing in their native tongue. Lisa did a good job in White Lotus and that was more of a supporting role. I think she might needs to get a few more roles to take on an ambitious project like this. If she performs well, then she will become a star imo. I strongly believe she will succeed as an actor because I think she has the drive to make it work.

  • No, she doesn't fit the role, and not only because she's not German, but she's not a good singer. I mean, no offense to her, but come on. Taking over the role after Mandy Moore? That's a career suicide, basically.

Also, I'm pretty sure this was made up by some dumbass blonks on Twitter and this another dumbass platform shared it. This is why I don't like this About Music page btw. They always share everything without any research.

Also, this. I didn't watch White Lotus because I was never interested in that show, but I heard from many critics that she was good. So, as actress she could do it obviously, it's not like Disney movies are that hard and complex. It's basically like any other romcom Kdrama. But the role definitely doesn't suit her. She has a completely different vibe.

To be honest, Disney should stop making these lame live action adaptations anyway. I can't mention more than 2 that was actually good.

The only good remake was Cinderella, the rest is garbage. I cannot believe they cannot find good new scrips and can only recycle old, superiorly done, stories/films. Hollywood has no new idea and I'm so glad they are failing.

  • Damn it!

You've unleashed those words into the universe and you know Disney will somehow officially do this down the line since they have no creativity for new and original films anymore.

In other words, no more live-action slops!!!

  • The first Maleficent was good too. At least that one give us something new.

Tbh, Cinderella was good too, but it was carried by Lily James.

Didn't watch maleficent but did watch Cinderella. It was a long time ago but i remember it added something to the story. The rest ruined the story.

I didn't watch little mermaid out of principle but i heard that kiss the girl lyrics were changed and that ariel saved the prince after the ship got hit by storm  she never held a wheel in her life but she saved him  and god knows what else. Let's not waste time by taking on casting of not pale Latina for snow white. Ugh. I hate Disney remakes.

I wouldn't say you should watch Maleficent, but it's your average Disney movie, but only the 1st one.

I didn't watch the Little Fish, either, because the original (JAPANESE) anime is my ultimate fave and I don't care about any other Mermaid stuff. I wasn't a big fun of the Disney animation, either.

Tbf nothing beats the NatGeo Lion King. Worst ever.🤣

Now that I think about it, I liked "Cruella" and "The Jungle Book" too. WOW, 3 movies I actually liked from 10 or how many adaptations they have.

Dumbo, Beauty and the Beast and Mulan were okayish but nothing special.

Lets not waste time taking on casting of not pale latina….. WHAT??? And as a follow up to your “on principle” comment about not watching the Little Mermaid???

Why isnt the issue that the witch is suddenly Israeli???

  • maybe because snow white has SKIN WHITE AS SNOW and the actress playing snow white doesn't?

It isn't the issue who's playing the witch/queen because it's not essential to her character.

As for Little mermaid; yes, I'm aware that mermaids are mythical creatures and that race swapping ariel shouldn't be an issue. But if you are remaking a Disney classic and new character does resemblance to the original one expect not to be successful. Which is exactly what happened, it didn't even break even.

You somehow missed my comment on lilo and stitch. Film earned over one billion dollars. That's what you get when you cast right.
