Irene isn’t a special case. I don’t like Irene either, but isn’t it unfair to pull her hair over that?

A lot of idols debut for money and exposure,only a few of them are really serious about being singers.

The same can be said about K-pop fans, we’ve had this discussion here several times.

Not everyone becomes a fan for the same reasons.

Some are here for the entertainment, variety shows or visuals others for the dance (or “performance,” as they call it), parasocial relationships, and so on.

She puts in a lot of effort for someone who only does it for money and fame. Why debut solo when money is all she wants. She'd only focus on modeling, fan signing event tours and selling merch because they pay more than singing. I'm sure she has the ability yo sell out fan signing event venues.

she's an artist at heart actually, she loves performing and be on stage.

despite her great beauty overshadowing her talents she is actually a good dancer and a decent singer with a very pretty voice. always on tune, always sounds nice.

she is also extremely hardwoking and a perfectonist. like don't be disrespectful like that .

also she doesn't need to be the best singer/dancer since she had the position of a visual in her group, and at her peak she was the top visual in the industry. unfortunatly, her controversie really ruined her status.

moreover, maybe being a singer wasn't her dream originally, and she did it for many benefits in the job, but that doesn't mean that she wasn't serious about her work and didn't have a passion for it when she chose to follow that path.

also she is +10 years into her career, it could totally make sense that she might want to do other things as well and maybe focus on something else that her pop star career atp in her life.

maybe it's the artistry, maybe it's the celebrity and fame, maybe it's the money...does it matter in the overall scheme of things?
