    Enjoy!

  • I was about to make a thread because I wasn't sure if it was posted.

I like this song but I am unsure how kpop fans will receive it. This type of music isn't for everyone, but I think it can open her to a new audience she wouldn't get with kpop. Hoping for a lot of success because I am enjoying her solo career so far.

I honestly love that she's doing her own thing. But you're right. Commercial success is important too. Hopefully, her collab with Pink Pantheress will help her music reach a much wider audience.

I think there's a wider reach here. I checked out some pop subreddits and this project is gaining more traction than her previous work. I have a good feeling here because this will have more appeal to western audience and PinkPanthress is a popular name. Her fans usually check out her music and hopefully they check this out which opens the door to check out Yves music.

I'm a big fan of Pinkpantheress, and I think the 2 of them will be the perfect match for each other. Not sure exactly how it's going to sound, DIM by Yves hints at exploring drum and bass which underpins lots of PP's songs. I think it would be fun to get a song a bit more UK garage though, maybe something like this:

Same, a big fan of Pink and this is such a great match. Usually with kpop collabs, just feel like they don't mesh well with the kpop artist or group and it feels inorganic. I just have a good feeling with this because it just feels right imo. I think Yves music being way out there for kpop and you can somewhat say the same with Pink because she introduced a style not touch much on mainstream. It feels Yves is doing that with kpop imo.

I like the artistic direction Yves is going. She's creating a lane for herself and hopefully it influence others to take risk because it can be rewarding.

I boguth Yves albums so far and for sure getting this one. Unsure if I should pay extra for the signed copy

Yeah 100% agree. What did you think of her collab on LSRFM Crazy? I wasn't much of a fan of that song overall, but I thought her verse really helped the composition (so that became pretty much the only version of the song I listen to now).

In general, collabs often feel very token and detract from the song. There are a few that surprise me and it's usually down to chemistry between the performers as they bounce off each other. I am hoping there will be a music video with the 2 of them together, like we got with Rose and Bruno Mars in APT.

I liked crazy but her version of crazy is superior. I wish that was the official version but I understand why it wasn't. Pink is interesting because there's inspiration in kpop in her music. However, it's clear she brought bet some older genres into mainstream and for a period kpop was a bit inspired by reviving some early 90s and 2000s gneres. It's crazy how things can come to a full circle, which is cool.

I agree with collabs we have to remember it can easily be a quick paycheque which makes it inorganic. I feel that's what happens often in kpop often. Take blackpink for example, it was clear their song with Cardi B was one of those transactional collabs and it just didn't mesh well. Cardi was even attacking fans about it because she didn't even want to promtoe. That's an example of a bad collab. However, I feel collabs they had with Lady Gaga and Dua Lipa felt more organic because it felt like the artist wanted to work with them. Then if we look at their solos APT, Handlebar, Damn Right, New Woman, and even born again felt like the artist wanted to work with them. However, something like fxxk the world didn't feel like Future wanted to work with Lisa, and felt like it was execs just throwing things at the wall and seeing if it would stick. I feel those collabs never work out because fans can sense that when they listen to the music.

is the Pink song the lead single? I guess there's a chance she's in the MV. It seems like something that she would do, so there's hope. Only concern of there not being a MV is her possibly busy recording her latest project.
