Are you okay with supporting right wing groups?

  • ... ... ...which one?

Hmmm in my country; Portugal. The party is called chega.

I don't agree with everything they wanna do but they are a necessity considering the current government is allowing third world countries to move in mass and is allowing stuff like giving Portuguese passports to people like those 7 so called Portuguese who died in the Indian plane crash who lived in London , had Indian names , had never been to Portugal, but somehow had Portuguese passports

  • everyone including idols are free to choose and support whoever they like

but they aren't free from the consequences of such actions

If an idol supports A and I vehemently dislike/hate A then absolutely I have choice to thus no support the idol but I can just as easily support her notwithstanding...

I've always said I have no issue with cancel/boycott culture - if a person choices to cancel/boycott (or support and defend) it's their choice and if lots of people do it well that's just freedom of expression

  • In the US, seeing the Left are out of their gourd. Also Left trying to make the Government a social institution. When Government should be boring and practical. The Right are presently more practical. Removing social Government agencies and mandates.

State Government is California is completely governed by the Left. A lot of flip service, nothing to show for it. Bankrupt Government causing new taxes and service cuts. Contempt of the Citizens while favoring special interest groups. Its a Study of how left to their own devices, a Dystopia develops, think of Hunger Games.

Most just experience hyper high cost of living. increasing taxes and struggling to keep up.

In Suburbia practical ideas are the rule. Not being hyped up by the propaganda. Its easy to spot the lies.

  • One example I think is older Asian/first generation Asian almost all vote Republican. Not necessarily because they want to bomb the Middle East or deport everyone but because they maybe from countries that suffered because of communist rule they have seen their own families die because of communist rule. For these people a country leaning left is the absolute most horrible thing that can happen.

Conversation around politics is never binary. If you want to talk about politics talk about policies in specifics. Talk about the issues you care about and find out if the people around you, the people you date or love align with them. That’s important. But painting with broad strokes especially to categorize celebrities as good vs evil literally never results in anything.

In my country both left and right don't align with anerican left and right. We don't have the same issues, we are homogeneous country.

I talked to someone about this. No party has official stance on israel, for example, it's based on personal opinion. Both right leaning and left leaning people are pro or against israel. Or pro or against Israel with Iran. Pro Ukraine or pro Russia (yes, wr have those too). But there's no one combination. I know people who are against what israel doing is Gaza, but support them against iran. Or you have people who are pro Israel and pro Russia, and pro israel and pro Ukraine. Everyone has their own logic. There's no right view, it's all over the place.

My country's president is a dictator, and I'm not being overdramatic. And we are democratic society, apparently. He has no ideology, he's everything and nothing. When both left and right parties and their supporters agree that he must be overthrown you know something isn't right.

Like you said, labeling someone as left and right is complicated, we should be talking about their policies.

  • Yes. Politics has no influence on who I support musically. None.

Idols are young and many of them uneducated so why would I listen to what they have to say on things such as the world economy, immigration, war, etc. It’s just silly. I view celebrities and Hollywood in the same regard. I’m also a big sports fan and don’t care what/who many of my favorite athletes support.

The people I listen to on this subject matter are highly educated with significant experience and knowledge in economics, government, etc. Some of them are politicians, some aren’t. I also listen to people who are both sides of the fence - conservatives and liberals because I believe it’s critical to get each side’s perspective.
