Should blackpink focus on their solo careers in the west or comeback to Korea?

They should do what they want to do!

But I'm sure people would love them to return to Korea if they had more frequent group content..

Well considering Atlantic Records seems to be handling even the music production for Rose right along with distribution it's safe to assume she intends to stay in the west. Also isn't she Australian?

i dont think jennie and jisoo will abandon korea

they should do whatever the F they want whether it be SK or the West or whatever else they so choose

Solo careers (in west or korea) well balanced with full group comebacks is most ideal.

I think Korea is still massively important for Kpop stars even on the level of Blackpink. Remaining popular in Korea is only a good thing for boosting your global popularity too. I think this is something Jennie intrinsically understands.

They clearly want both

Establishing themselves in the Western market while bringing a Korean touch.

Rosé and Jennie were smart enough to combine the two.

Rosé's most popular song is authentically inspired by a Korean game, even though it's in English.

Jennie's Zen is inspired by Silla (a Korean story), and with Like Jennie, she intentionally included a Korean rap, it was also her most successful song.

Jisoo also tries to have it both ways by making English and Korean songs but the language barrier limits her.

For Lisa, she doesn't even bother to please Koreans, for her there is nothing to gain by promoting in Korea outside the group

So they can do what they want as a solo artist, but YG is still involved for group related activity.

Yeah and also Jennie is massively popular in Korea.

Even if people can be like "Korea is just one country" it is where a lot of Kpop news is made that then spreads globally and fuels her global visibility.

So whatever she accomplishes in Korea is often reported upon everywhere there is Kpop news and it's consumed everywhere there are Kpop fans, which helps keeps a buzz around her.
