I gave it a listen and it's not my cup of tea
It was a very well made drama, quite impactful.
But like with My Mister, it can't be seen lightly, so may not gel with people looking for light stuff.
And this song, actually I prefer the d.ear version, I need to explore good music more.
This one gives me Jannabi vibes.
But my favourite track from the drama OST was Kim Jung Mi's Spring, used as the title track. Here's the full version.

With her dramas, others versions are somehow more apt than hers.
Like Sondia was simply perfect for 'Adults' in My Mister, even IU's cover does not hit as well.

I think she should avoid singing OSTs for her own dramas, when she already makes such a powerful impact playing the character.
She can sing for others, both 'Hold My Hand' and 'Give my Heart' were amazing OSTs.

For long she kept a separation between the actress Lee Jieun and singer IU, only recently has merged the identities.
So she mostly did not sing for her acting gigs, but not entirely. There are a few songs in Bel Ami, The Producers, My Mister - but they weren't the highlight songs of the OST.
For others like Moon Lovers, Hotel Del Luna - she was not part of the official OST, yet wrote 'unofficial' songs which the fandom knows.
Her official OST singing is very sparse, that is why when they got her to sing for 'Crash Landing On You', it was hot news.
This drama too, is an acting achievement for her, so the OSTs aren't going to matter much.
The key to IU's success is that fans appreciate songs that they see coming from personality with authenticity- there needs to be creative input from her. Mere singing won't cut it.
That's why her OSTs don't do as well her own releases. Nor when she just lends her voice, like "Mother Nature H2O" (though I love the song)
Similarly songs where she only contributes lyrics also don't that well on the charts,
