Could Vice President Kamala Harris make a run for California governor in 2 years?
Nearly half of voters in Vice President Kamala Harris' home state of California say they would be open to supporting her if she decided to run for governor in…

And this source believes that she will run for President again.

Burdened by what had been: Kamala Harris couldn’t convince voters
Kamala Harris was supposed to be Joe Biden's top campaign surrogate. Then the VP had to take the baton four years before she was ready to run.

"Harris had not been expecting to run for president until 2028."

What do y'all think? I personally think she will run for Governor of California as incumbent Governor Gavin Newsom is term-limited.

  • As the rest of the Country is done with Harris. Won't have to suffer her any longer. Enough Californians like her ilk to vote her Governor. :pepe-shrug:

It will go against her M.O. for campaigning for the next highest office. Office of Governor is a downgrade.

She may get an offer from a foreign country for a debriefing of what she knows.

Contrary to what she says, she has no loyalty to anyone besides herself. A trait she shares with another California politician, Newsom.

  • She will run for Governor of California and lose in the primary to Nicole Shanahan. She will blame racism and MAGA. She will eventually run for Mayor of San Francisco and win. She will declare San Francisco an open sanctuary city and the population will swell form 800K to to 3.5 million. She will then demand Federal assistance to handle the huge overpopulation problem she created. The Trump Administration will laugh at her. :-)

If the US wants a woman as Governor of California, they're probably better off with Nicole Shanahan than Kamala Harris (I don't know why)

If the US wants a woman as President, they're better off with Gretchen Whitmer because she is the governor of a battleground state (Michigan), and she is listed as a potential candidate for POTUS in 2028:

  • I don't think many presidents and vice presidents have taken a lesser role one they leave the oval office. Off of the top of my head of the presidents, only John Adams, Taft, and Andrew Johnson took on "lesser roles" (US representative, SCOTUS justice, and US senator respectively). I don't recall what vice presidents have done so, but I don't believe that there would be a lot that would go to a lesser role.

Harris is a bit different because her federal political career was very short, so she's not receiving a huge pension compared to Biden or other previous officials, so she probably still has to work. I would expect her to go to some type of private work rather than going back to a public office any time soon. There's only one place for her political career to aspire to at this point, and it's not as a state governor.

By "private work" you mean like "private law firm" and do you mean that Harris' only place for her political career is mayor or what?
