Which US state in the South is the best to visit besides Florida?

I've been to New York, which is in the north of the country.

I am departing Iowa, which is in the midwest of the country.

I really need to go back down to Earth (pun intended) by going to some state in the South. What do you think it is? Someone in the forum said not to go to Alabama because it's boring, and if I wanted to go to Georgia it'd be a day trip to Jimmy Carter's peanut statue because it looks funny.

I don't think Delaware is a good idea because it looks as part of the North to me at least. I'm tired of being in the North of the country.

All these options are the states declared as part of the South by the United States Census Bureau by the way.
