How did Trump voters view democracy?

Trumpets overall really scare me.
Not because they are actually scary but the concept of having a group of people with so little critical thinking going on among them is scary. Having a person that channels that energy from the group, scares me even more.
With most of his followers being men, I'd say they view democracy as a threat to their superiority. And I guess with Kamala Harris being a prime advocate for democracy, they will be naturally inclined to despise her because she stands for everything they detest: democracy, feminism, etc. Basically, they will not support anything and anyone that are a threat to their male ego and superiority. As for his female supporters..I think they just support him because they've sorta been brought up with that male > female mindset and they believe guys should do all the work and all that so they might think democracy is a threat to that hierarchy that they've been forced to conform to.
Idk.

My views ( i think) are center left, so I'm a bad source haha
It's less about being a bad source and more about insight.
If trump supporters actually listened and actually processed insight from people all across the board then Trump wouldn't be president-elect.
So I also agree with OP, I wanna hear it even though its an essay.

"democracy" is too abstract an idea, for people to bother about much.
"Danger to democracy"makes for a very poor plank.
Only the politically biased biased care for such abstractions.
Most voters aren't.
Besides MAGA also ran on unelected Deep State diverting the will of the people.
All voters are politically biased. If you're not politically biased, you aren't bothering to vote.

If you're not politically biased, you aren't bothering to vote.
Or you're a poll worker (yes, I worked as a poll worker. They're non-partisan, and they vote only if they want.)
-
from what I can tell, As an outsider looking in, There's definitely several things going on.
I'm unsure of these, these are democrat twitter memes of MAGA ppl.
1. Difficulty of thought: I'm right and if I'm having a hard time thinking about it it must be wrong.
2. Evangelical Falseness: They're wrong and I'm going to show them.3. Compartmentalization: The solutions to these issues makes sense separately.
4. Eww Democrats: The Democratic party is evil, and seeks to destroy you for their gain.
These are traditionally republican.5. The Good Ole Times: The democratic party was in power for so long, all the issues that exist are a result of their gambles with power. If they didn't do anything, we'd be just fine.
6. Less Taxes Please: Life is already hard enough, I'd be great if I'd pay less to the good for nothing government.
7. I Do What I Do: The government that dictates the actions of its citizens is severely tyrannical.
8. Less Government: The government always fucks things up. Let us just handle it ourselves for once!American Christianism in MAGA (im not religious so take with a fistful of salt)
9. The Good Book: I like these bible passages and we should all follow them.10. The Good Book 2: The other bible passages are clearly not feasible in this day and age. We're modern now so let's act like it.
11. Bleeding Hearts: People dying is terrible and all life must be protected.
12. I'm Not Sexist: The woman is more prone to the devil, the good book says. I'm not sexist, that's just the way things are!
- -. Edit: The Chosen One: Trump is clearly a good man, and sent by god to save the nation. God works with Imperfect tools too so shaddap.
Political Fatigue and MAGA
13. Fresh Face Promise: These politicians don't have the guts to punish themselves it takes a real bold outside man to come in and fix it.
14. Bold Promises : This guy's who all politicians should be. Stop whining behind the mic about tweaking this and adjusting that, coward, and come out and fix things!
15. The Evil Elite: Singers, actors, billionaires are clearly fucking people over and hoarding the wealth like evil dragons. Trump earned his own money fair and square. These Elites always look down on us and they always break the law, just that they have enough lawyers to get away with it.
16. The Good Ole Days 2: We used to be decent people. We didn't twerk or cross dress in front of children or tell them that they can go to any bathroom they want!
Meet the departments:17. Department of Education: Brainwashes your kids into being sexual and trans. Outhouse of satan. All his shitty ideas go to your kids brains here.
18. Department of Justice: Political career assassination tool. Used to unfairly persecute political opponents.19. Department of Homeland Security: Somewhat of a joke. Illegals are clearly streaming in the border!!!
20. Department of Veteran Affairs: Exists solely to laugh at and mock veterans. "YoUr hEaRiNg loSS is Not sERviCe RelATed", "I got not time to put in earplugs in a firefight B!tch." They'll select the most crucial surgery and the most expensive one and refuse that one just to fuck people over. Also their mental health resources consume mental health.
Meet the Bureaus:
21. Federal Bureau of Investigation: They're the tools for the evil elite. They're corrupt and do Nothing!22. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms: The most expensive counter-terror organization with absolutely zero successes. Also they'll kill your dog while they're at it. Best tool for suppressing the second amendment. Complete buffoons, negative IQ, Fancy themselves as unelected lawmakers. Complete hogwash. Oh did you know that they'll kill your dogs? May or may not be portrayed as Gollum in various content.
This is definitely a series of caricatures. I cannot claim any of these to be even moderately accurate, but these are what I've heard, but taken up a notch by a little bit because they're more like vignettes of these views, rather than what they actually are. this list also is most definitely incomplete.
This is not representative of my political views either. -

All voters are politically biased. If you're not politically biased, you aren't bothering to vote.
True, but I meant in the sense of how much significance they give to ideological issues.
Most don't, economy, personality and some emotional issues - is the extent for most voters.
Maybe 'politically aware' is a better word
-
Some people give in a blank ballot (I've seen a blank ballot being cast only once as a poll worker). I'm sure they're politically aware, but they do not simply want to vote for anyone, most likely because of the Israel-Hamas war.

Did Gaza really matter that much in the elections?
I think it is much exaggerated and a "boutique" cause, compared to things like inflation, immigration etc.
But let's see data from elections

Did Gaza really matter that much in the elections?
In this presidential election, yeah.
Israel–Hamas war protest vote movements - Wikipediaen.wikipedia.org -
In this presidential election, yeah.
Adding on: im speculating that The Biden admin's reluctance to rebuke Israel directly and from the get go lead to a lot of people fearing the same permissive attitude from Harris. To some, this is a make it or break it issue, thus they voted elsewhere.

TheHeretic As a Trump voter, how did you view democracy under a second Trump administration?

If serious efforts are made to eliminate election fraud, then genuine democracy will flourish. But as the state and local government officials responsible for that fraud start to be identified, systematically removed from their posts, and charged with crimes, the public is going to hear massive screaming about how "undemocratic" the reform process is. Because the word "democracy' has an entirely different definition on the Left.
Two new political factions are forming: Big Government/Big Business/Dependents vs. Small Government/Small Business/Producers. These factions transcend traditional party lines, so you are seeing strange new coalitions like Big Money Republicans and Democrats/Legacy Media/Hollywood/ANTIFA on one side and Musk/RFK Jr./Union Workers/MAGA on the other side. These coalitions look bizarre to those who think party labels are still the true dividing lines, but they make perfect sense when you see that they are logical groupings of the Takers and Fakers in the first group and the Makers in the second.
For four decades, the government-media complex has defined "fair and democratic" to mean the promotion of election fraud on behalf of what they call historically marginalized groups. That fraud actually benefits a small number of grifters who act in the names of those groups, not so much the group members, themselves. But government-media complex overplayed their hand so badly in 2020 that the average inattentive voter finally took notice of what they had been doing. It is taking time, but through the real democratic process the system is beginning to correct itself.
As those fraud vectors are now identified and removed, the observer must be careful to understand that subsequent cries by the grifters of "Anti-Democratic!" really mean: "My government cash is getting cut off!"
That is the true terror that Trump's election brings - unemployment for a large and well-established class of professional thieves.

Americans have experienced first hand how their freedoms were curbed during the pandemic, in many hypocritical ways.
Like schools were shutdown, churches under mask mandates, but BLM kind of protests were unrestricted. Social media suppression etc. Many of which are being proven wrong in retrospect
That's far more impactful than whatever is messaged about Project 2025.
And the message is that it is not even about Democrats and Republicans, but the unelected Deep State of bureaucrats aligned with other interests, who operate irrespective of the party.
So that message has more resonance than Project 2025, which actually is nothing new, just written down version of what parties were already doing anyway.
-
-
Didn't I already mention it up the thread?
The essence of Project 2025 is for the MAGA/RNC to control bureaucracy, judiciary and institutions by placing their own people.
But that 80%+ of Federal bureaucrats have donated to DNC in the last few elections, indicate that DNC has already been implementing its project.
And frankly it is not some great revelation, political parties are inherently meant to spread influence while pretending to be neutral. Left is just better at the pretension
