"This is Representative Park Hongbae of the Democratic Party of Korea.
Since the last National Assembly audit, in addition to the petition for a hearing on Coupang, there was another petition that gathered more than 50,000 signatures.
It is a petition requesting the Ministry of Employment and Labor to cancel its designation of HYBE as an "Top Company."
During the last National Assembly audit, I pointed out that there were issues with the Ministry of Employment and Labor's selection of HYBE as an outstanding employment company, and that it met the criteria for cancellation. I requested that the Ministry report back to my office on the matter. However, the Ministry responded that they would investigate after a complaint was raised and provide a report later.
Yet, to this day, no report has been provided.
Not only in our committee but also during the National Assembly audit of the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Committee, internal documents from HYBE were made public, causing a stir.
According to an industry report titled "HYBE Executive Report," there are inappropriate comments and offensive remarks about the appearance of artists from other agencies, which are too inappropriate to even mention.
I'm not sure if the Vice Minister has seen this material.
This is another basis for cancelling the selection of HYBE as an outstanding employment company, as it involves causing public controversy, media lawsuits, and complaints, which are listed as reasons for cancellation.
HYBE has caused a social controversy and has done nothing to address it, while the Ministry of Employment and Labor has been turning a blind eye and stalling for time, an unfortunate situation that the public is watching.
I ask the Chairman to propose an inspection of the Ministry of Employment and Labor's system for evaluating companies under the outstanding employment company program and various excellent company programs, and to ensure that the National Assembly responds to the public's request regarding the HYBE petition. I request that our committee thoroughly examine this and make sure the selection is properly canceled."
