Why do so many unhinged comments I read in the Kpop space mostly come from Armys? I don’t want to generalize because there are some awesome ones out there, but man, some of you are really shitty. It's disgusting to even compare the girls to Diddy, or even put them in the same sentence as if the girls committed a similar crime. You sure know how disgusting that guy is and a lot of his victims around the girls age. And honestly, why do you use such weird phrasing to talk about a group of young girls? Blackpink is anything but normal. They are an anomaly as far as gg's go. Once in a lifetime maybe, the standard of what a top gg is. We can't use the trajectory/lifetime of a typical gg to judge BP. No girl group has been as loved in Korea as NewJeans since SNSD.

They not like us. NewJeans have done in two years what 99% of groups won't even achieve if they had twenty years.

They're that legendary already. It's amazing you all can watch the whole industry, from 1st gen to current gen idols, support NewJeans publicly and think they're not the most beloved group in Korea.

If that were true, they would have had bigger numbers in 2022

I think they'll be okay. NewJeans isn't bound to any concept, and as long as they're with Min Heejin, they will continue to evolve and traverse new territory as artists.

But you're being willfully ignorant if you don't think NewJeans are already legends of the industry--what they've done in two years, not to mention the way they've fought for their careers against a giant conglomerate, already cements them as one of the greatest girl groups ever.

They did not "fought" against a giant conglormaret, they are a part of one and got all the benefit from being part of it when it comes to recources and marketing. Being part of the same company as BTS don't hurt either. The conflict HYBE/Ador happen after NJ peaked and did not really effect their rise to the top. It's now the test starts, are they able to transform to a more mature concept/style and keep their popularity even after the conflict problems? Sure, if they at the end of 2026 still are a popular tier 1 group I would place them among the greatest girlgroups.
