which is strange because the Cosmic bop or flop threat everyone was praising it to the heavens
Most people agree Cosmic > Supernova but why did it fail?

Aespa is the current trend and RV are not. It's as simple as that. I'll admit Supernova is unique, but I think Cosmic will be the more timeless song. Its reception has no bearing on the song's actual quality. Most people who've listened to it seem to like it a lot anyway.
Most people do not agree with this, Supernova is a far superior song. SOTY for me and I don’t stan Aespa.
Cosmic is a very nice song, but Supernova is something special.

I disagree. Supernova is an unusual earworm that suits the soundscape of Aespa's current concept, but I don't think it will age particularly well. It's too reliant on the trappings of their overall product. Cosmic is a quality song beyond just its catchiness and will be something I can listen to years from now without having to mentally take myself back to a time when this sound was still hip.

I love both songs, but Cosmic is not peak RedVelvet! While supernova is also not peak Aespa it will be remembered just because of its impact nationally and internationally! It also has many iconic parts where Cosmic doesn’t!
And it is hard to compare them since they are completely different from each other!
It just comes to what people prefer at the end!
And I prefer Supernova every single day over Cosmic!

I'm not talking about "impact" or having "iconic parts," however you measure such a thing, I'm talking about song quality and lasting appeal vs. fads. Supernova's sound is a fad that's already come & gone several times.

It is not a fad bfr. It is one of the most unique songs! It is experimental and quirky, and it will be remembered for its unique and ear-worm sound and superior instrumentals!
You comparing song quality is still subjective!
And you are comparing completely different music genres! And it is up to people’s taste which genre they like

I don't have an issue with songs sounding of their age. That's just how things are sometimes, and it's something that I even appreciate sometimes. Context makes things more special. I admit I am may be the biggest "Supernova" hater on this board, but I'm not going to put "Cosmic" above it. I can't do it.
