How can SM be so incompetent?

I could be a number of things. It’s possible SM had a minimum billing that they stuck to, as in, if you aren’t paying a minimum this for their artist, they aren’t attending.

Maybe SM had so much overhead (staff) that prepping an artist for an event cost too much, making the profit margin too small to make it worth it.

Or SM was just negligent on giving their artist opportunities.

But acting like, a company just doesn’t want money is weird. Ofcourse they do lol. But sometimes taking money (like i said with minimum billing) could be less money in the long run if companies start thinking they can offer anything.

It’s way more likely, now at a small company, they are willing to take any work, because their profit margins are crazy now, without SM taking their cut and charging them with expenses related to the appearance.

They just neglect them later on in their careers too. They don't just have limitless staff and resources they'll put all their time into the new toys.

Tbh I've always hated that about sm.

Find me a company besides BTS who own HYBE, that gives there artist more solo music than SM. I’ll wait…..

No but it frames what you are calling incompetent. You are basically saying going above the industry standard, practiced by over 90% of companies is wrong. SM who goes above and beyond of what the industry standard is, is being incompetent to their artist???? It just doesn’t make sense.

Just because it isn’t good enough for you, to do more for your soloist than 90% of kpop companies, doesn’t mean it’s incompetence. I don’t think any rational person would say that…..

SM stans just like to cry when they get stuff, that tons of idols have to leave their company to get.
