Changed the title of the thread from “Gomoku” to “Connect 4”. -
the first player have so much power
if the first player actually plays optimally 100% wins

bs!
i have read it from wikipedia:
Official rules[edit]
Players alternate turns placing a stone of their color on an empty intersection. Black plays first. The winner is the first player to form an unbroken chain of five stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Placing so that a line of more than five stones of the same color is created does not result in a win. These are called overlines.
Because gomoku has a strong advantage for the first player when unrestricted,[5][6] the Swap2 rule is currently adapted in tournaments among professional players, including gomoku World Championships.[7]
In Swap2 rule, the first player starts by placing three stones, 2 black and 1 white, on the board. The second player then selects one of three options: play as black, play as white and place another white stone, or place two more stones, one white and one black, and let the first player choose the color.[8][9] This is essentially a more elaborate pie rule.

Yes, it's luck at the end.
If you are first, you would probably lose at the end bc of the order of the moves.

It's a bit of both luck and skill. You blocked many of my paths and set up a great trap at the bottom row to win, so give yourself credit for that. I set up two traps, but unfortunately couldn't use them.
