Who here have been investing or going to invest in stocks, etfs, etc

  • for the past few years i have been grinding to make a 100k portfolio. i am very close

recently just the start of the new year i re balance my portfolio and allocated some more 10% to bitcoin

after doing some digging and reading. big companies have now put bitcoin in ETF to be able to be held in your TFSA,RRSP (candian version ) of your roth ira or 401k. anyone else ?

  • Almost all of my investable money is held in mutual funds. I am a boring investor who doesn't really try to outperform the market and will let the average annual return year by year grow my net worth, although I do plan on allocating 10% to speculative trading at some point.

Despite the simplicity of my investment methodology, I have accumulated enough wealth to have zero concerns financially.

Be careful with those speculative investments, and don't invest more than what you're willing to lose.

  • Started investing about a year ago. Mostly index funds and “boring” companies with ok dividends.

No crypto yet as I’m still on a steep learning curve

Diehard regret not taking this path earlier

  • I went allninone equity as I have some time to ride out market fluctuations.i will switch them out as I get older then again as I approach retirement.

I'm willing to lose that 10 percent for the higher return. So far it's been performing crazy. Will Take profits in the way up and then buy again in the dip

  • Taken courses on Options trading. Takes some serious research. Invested small amount and lost it. idk what to suggest. Options are very risky. Its like boarding a Roller Coaster.

    Other investing, idk

  • My portfolio is heavy on mstr. A company that holds bitcoin. Then the other part is tsla. I used to hold a big portion in vfv but I'm going for more risk.

  • Time to sell? or hold?

I sold some on the way up then bought some on the dips. I'm done playing like that tho. Bitcoin is in a bull run right now and I'm just gonna hold. Mstr also has a lot of potential being that its trading at a premium. Bitcoin goes mstr shoots up goes both ways tho. Anyways this stock has a lot of potential.

Microstragety. Its a company that holds bitcoin among other things and follows bitcoin price. It's mostly people buying it to hold in their tax free savings account as to not buy bitcoin itself because 1. They have to pay capital gains. 2. Self custody. 3. Fees. With mstr you don't have to.

  • It's exciting to see how you've strategically diversified, especially with Bitcoin gaining traction in mainstream investment avenues like ETFs.

  • Have done stocks for about 30 years since I was 18, but not any real big amount before getting a job after the university.

My intrest was a bit up and down for some years but the last 10-15 years it have been more constant.

    ?!30 years!

May I ask… how much do you make in dividends per year?

Keep in mind I did not invest that much the first couple of years being still in school and low income.

Not sure, but it's more than I spend on food and rent. But people should not focus too much dividends, the real money comes from the growth of the values, even if I like dividens.

And it's not always profits, for the last two years, or more excactly since the start of the Ukraine war, I have had a negative return. That is how it is. You can have some great years being a bit lucky to have good or great returns, a some years doing really bad. The last 20 years I have only had 12 profit years, 8 hade a negative return. But of the profit years I had some really good years so the average return is still good.
