[BTS CONTENT] Come to find out BTS could have been 100% exempted after basic training thanks to a special program but they rejected the special exemption and still served.

But it seems to be the same as a full exemption though. People misunderstand and think exemption means you don’t complete your service. Not really.

The exemption outlined by the law is actually the Alternative service, where you do 3-4 weeks of the basic training everyone goes through then you spend 540 hours(which should be completed by 2-3years;not very sure about the time limit) doing community service for the country.

This program he says does not allow pop artistes, just like how the alternative service doesn’t benefit pop artistes either. A ministry commendation wouldn’t even work here because it’s the law that needs to be rectified

So it is all just cos90. BTS can’t reject a special privilege they did not qualify for in the first place

It’s very BTS of them to not take any special privileges. I am not surprised at all.

Just to say that I support the guys’ decision. They did what was right and best for them and from what they have said, treating this as a life milestone and learning experience. Very healthy pov.

Personally, if they were allowed special treatment, or if they didn’t serve, some people will forever use it against them. BTS knew this and now these people can’t.

smart move on their part...they would have gotten shit on if they went the exemption route.
