Not surprising. This happens to all of us. Because joining any type of socom unit requires you to be somewhat anonymous, like if you are deployed overseas, during the war on terror special forces were deployed alongside US military to engage in battle with militants Korea has quite a few combat sorties over there. The reason for no tattoos is so you can't be identified outside of combat later. This is why it was a huge controversial thing when that white house person released a uncensored photo of seal team 6 with the president. These people are Identity is supposed to be kept secret as they do Alot of spying and under cover operations, so having readily identifiable traits like sleeve tattoos etc isn't advisable and why their faces are blurred out when they are photographed .

Being identifiable risks your safety and security, meaning enemies including nation states could come after you even in peace time, this is why they want to keep your 🆔 a secret. Even a high profile person like JK if no tattoos, most people he would have likely encountered in a deployment situation likely wouldn't recognize him and even if they did they wouldn't immediately assume he was the guy coming after them. It's very easy to make someone's face forgettable in a fight, lot harder with things easy to recreate like a tattoo
