I needed ADOR and Mnet to squash their beef like yesterday

    I know as well as anyone how the MAMAs aren't that important and there are historically less fraudulent awards that always follow it, but Ima still be real salty if NewJeans gets stiff armed on daesangs with this big of a lead

    These are the literal perfect conditions for the first girl group since SNSD in 2011 to get Artist of the Year at MAMAs, and it's a shame it may have near 0% chance of happening due to that (legitimate) beef over the 2022 MAMAs not giving NJ any rookie awards.


    There isn't as much time as people think for a girl group to get this prize, because once 2025 arrives, we all know who's getting all the big awards :eyes:

    If NJ don't go to the MAMAs, then I wouldn't be surprised if they get 0 daesangs there. Very, very rarely will Mnet award a group a daesang if they don't even attend. That + the ongoing beef is really working against NJ here.

    No show, no award.


    The awards mean nothing anyway. Its not like its a grammy. Its some Korean award. Only nugu groups and companies that can't make it outside Korea would care about the award.


    But the exposure when performing helps the group, unless they have already made it big globally like BTS, BP, Twice, Stray Kids and Seventeen. Then their appearance is more like a thank you to the organisers.

    Still possible, they awarded BTS back in 2021 with daesangs when they didn’t go. Hopefully they pick up something 🙌
