YG Applies For Trademark Of "G-Dragon" So That GD Won't Be Able To Use This Name If He Fails To Renew With Them

  • I thought Korean courts in the past struck down copyrights of individual names/aliases? Would be surprised if this copyright claim prevented GD from using his own alias.

  • Well, they do own the name. Just like they trademarked every group name. They trademarked Lalisa, Rose, T.O.P.

These are YG properties just like the songs are YG properties.

These artists and names were built up through YG marketing, money and infrastructure. No one would know These names without them.

    YG Family

You are wrong. GD became what he is through GD alone!! and without him no one would know YG

  • Well, I got my reply...some people really are such hardcore company stans...sigh

  • And here I thought YG just lets their idols leave when they don't renew. So they are not so different from Shitty Management and other labels after all.
