I've said it before but there are many definitions of the word "flop"

and one of them is performing worse than previously...

so in this example theiy were previously selling over 100K but this was less than 100K

furthermore even in charting or whatever if they charted worse than they did previously (I'm not sure of actual numbers) then some would consider that a flop

More like declining. Some may consider flop although they are not exactly flop in the sense that they are not successful.
