One of the member said their company give them that name in attempt to create some noise about their debut. For a small company, bad publicity is still a publicity anyway. Unfortunately, it didn't work. They thought they was very smart for using ikon and gidle name at that time because both groups were under controversy that year and around this group debuted. They really thought they can get some attention because of their name.
